Water Fall Glen

Cheryl and I took our kids to Water Fall Glen to see the waterfall and hike around some.  Abbie, a family friend had spent the previous night so she joined us for our adventure.

Annie being coy

Liam and Annie love fest.

Take a look at this handsome dude with these lovely ladies.

Hiking to the water fall we found a bridge.  A fellow hiker passing by told the kids that a troll lived under the bridge.  They all believed it and were trying to find him.

In the 26 years I have known this woman this just about sums up our luck!!!  We get down the path only to discover that the water fall is closed until 2013!  Also it turns out what I have always called Water Fall Glen is actually called Rocky Glen Fall!  What the heck?!?!

This is pretty much our standard answer.
Luckily there was a gross er um I mean cute millipede type bug in the rocks on the  alternate route.

After promising a dollar to anyone who held the bug both Abbie and Lizzy went for it!

The hand off

Check out Liam in the back ground.  He clearly can not believe that these girls are holding this bug!

Next the kids explored the Milk weed on the side of the path.

Even little Liam got in on the action

Of you peel open the pods you get lots and lots of fluff!

Now Annie is the one in shock.

We did discover that the stuff inside the Milke weed pod when picked apart is very sticky.
Here Mommy...

have....

a.....
Flower.
What is it about creeks that just beg kids to come and play?

Annie and Liam were not about to be left out of the big kid fun.

This is right after Alex slipped and landed on his bottom in the water.

What a great sport he is laughing about it.

Liam does not want to be left out of the wet bottom fun.

In retrospect yelling "Hey kids through the rocks this way!"  Was not a very smart move.

Lizzy and Abbie right before I realized they were about 2 steps from a big sink hole that went down about 4 feet.

Working together as a team to build.......

.....this.

Checking out the fish from the bridge.
