Door County Day 3

On Friday I got to sleep in Dan made the girls breakfast.  Then we headed out for our day of adventuring.

We started our day off in Fish Creek at the Door County Confectionery.  Dan had been building this up big for the girls for at least 2 months.

I think it lived up to the hype.
What kid wouldn't think they were in heaven in this store?!?
Making very important decisions

Proudly showing off her painstakingly carefully picked piece of candy.
Then we had time for a little lunch time play at Not Licked Yet.

Just Gnoming around

Annie showing off her swinging skills.
After lunch we went to Hands on Art Studio.  It took us almost and hour to get inside because they are on a farm and well you know kids and farm animals.

Annie will pet the goats of mommy does and she can put her hand on top of mine to do it.

Lizzy wants a chicken

Sharing in their new found joint piggy love.

Barn cat

This is where we spent our time being creative.

Making a wind chime.

Daddy and Annie working on a project.

The large round disk at the bottom of the screen is the project that I am working on.

I have filled this whole thing with something called frit.  This will smooth it out and make it easier to clean.
As the girls got bored with the art stuff they would go out and play on this swing set.  Lizzy loves Hands On Art Studio  and wants to live there.
We had time to kill when we were done with Hands On so we drove over to the lake side and went to Bailey's Harbor

View from the Harbor

We went to a Fish Boil at the Old Post office for dinner.

This guy makes a great salty old sailor.  He has been doing this forever.  Look at all of that yummy White Fish.
All of that white fish goes in the kettle on top of the potatoes and onions that are already there.

Then he tosses a can full of fuel on the fire and.....

Woosh!!!
Just as quickly the boil over brings the flame down.

Just about out.

Then they thread a pole through the handles and bring it in.

Then we get to gobble it up.  Except for Annie who ate a hotdog the whole time complaining that there was no Mac and Cheese.
