Qianjiang Reunion 2011

It's hard to believe that another year has passed.  It has been 6 years since we first met the 10 amazing families that would become our travel group.  Most of us were able to make it to the reunion hosted by the Newman Family.  The girls got to play on a slip and slide and just be goofy!

The single mother in our group had just returned from a heritage trip to China with her daughters (her trip with us was for her second child).  She was able to fill us in what is going on in Qianjiang.  It turns out that the girls Social Welfare institute (SWI) is severally impoverished.  There is no doubt in any of our minds that our girls birth families were most likely farming families that were faced with some very difficult decisions.

All in all she said that her trip was wonderful and to share the land of their birth with her child was amazing.  The families that were there talked about it and have decided to make a goal.  God willing in 2015 as many of us as possible will together make the journey of a heritage tour to celebrate 10 years of being a family.

Since we have been home 4 families have decided to expand their family again through adoption.  Dan and I were the first to bring another child home.  In the last 4 months 2 other families have been able to identify child that they will be adopting through the special needs program.  1 other family is still in line and waiting in the "healthy child" group.  They have been waiting since November of 2006.

Is it just me or does the look on her face clearly say "Here comes trouble!"
Slllllip! Slip and slide!!!

Stoooooop! Stop and pose :)

As you can see Annie was not about to be left out of the picture taking action!

Lizzy is on the bottom.  Sarah is on top of her and Lindsey is the top layer.  Sarah and Lizzy were roommates in China.  Any time we get together these two are drawn together like magnets.  Lizzy and Lindsey were in China dance together and in a play-group together so they actually see each other more than they see the other girls in the group.  It is a wonderful thing to see them all getting along so well.

If you look in the back ground above Lindsey's head you will see that once again Annie was not about to be left out of what is clearly picture taking fun.
