This Sunday we had Annie baptized. After the ceremony we had a combination birthday/baptism party. It was wonderful to be with all of our family. The members of our travel group were there as well as most of the people who are more than friends and truly qualify as family.
Annie's Godmom Auntie Pam helped her get dressed for her big day. The finishing touch to her outfit was a bracelet that Auntie Pam had made for her with her name Annamarie on it. Lizzy's Godfather Uncle John gave her one on her big day with her name on it. Auntie Pam was kind enough to have it made bigger so that Lizzy could wear hers too.
Both of the girls wore purple jade pendants that say "Sisters" in Chinese Calligraphy that they received as a gift from Mommy and Daddy.
Annie's Godfather Uncle Jeff got to light her Baptismal candle and present it to her.
The baptism gown that Annie is wearing was handmade by my Sister-in-Law Dee. She took some of the material from my wedding gown and turned it into this beautiful gown. She even added some lace from her own wedding gown or veil. My beautiful Lizzy was baptized in this gown and now my amazing and finally here at last Annie has worn this gown too. I am now going to pack it away with the hope that my grandchildren will be baptized in this gown as well. Below you is a picture of Annie with her Godfather and his wife Auntie Dee the creator of the beautiful gown that will hopefully be shared by many generations to come.
Next is a picture of Annie with her Godmother Auntie Pam
Annie and the Grandparents
Annie with Mommy, Daddy, Shushu, Godfather and Godmom
Annie with Mommy, Daddy, Shushu, Uncle Pete (my mom's brother) and Doggie (that is what she calls my sister Terry Ann)
Annie with Mommy, Doggie, Shushu and Uncle Bucket (that is what my brother Jon calls himself).
When I ordered the cake I goofed. I marked chocolate frosting instead of white so we had a brown Christening cake oops!!!
Mommy, Daddy and Shushu helped Annie blow out her candles.
At the end of the day Annie's favorite person is still Gapa. This picture actually shows off the white dress that I got for her in China to wear to the party.

I heart your family :)
Annie first became part of your family through adoption, and now, through baptism, she is an adopted child of God as well. And before you could officially adopt her, didn't you just know she was already part of your family as well? God also knew as much.
How beautiful! I love that the baptismal gown is from your wedding gown and your sisters(?) gown as well. That is so beautiful....and the jade necklaces??? Oh boy! How wonderful!
