The Nutcracker

Every year for the last 4 years my mom and I have taken Lizzy to see the Nutcracker. This year Annie is finally home and able to join us.

LaoLao is kind enough to get there early enough to make sure that we get good seats.  When you are 3 and 6 what else do you do to kill time while waiting for the doors to open.  I know play Ring-Around-the-Rosie.

The production is put on by a local ballet company filled with local children. They hire a Prima Ballerina for the part of the Sugar Plum Fairy and a Danseur for the part of the Cavalier.

Lizzy little friend Delaney was able to join us. All three girls had a blast.

It was a wonderful production.

Once the show is over the dancers come out and autograph programs or you can purchase old pointe shoes to have them sign.  Annie was a little unsure at first but by the end she would march up to anyone in a sparkling costume and make-up and shove her progam at them.

Lizzy and Delaney loved collecting the autographs too.

Here is Lizzy and Annie with Claire, a toy soldier and one of the Marzipan dancers.  Delaney did not want to be in this picture.

Here the girls are with the Prima Ballerina.  All three of them were star struck.
