Tinenaman Square

This was a major surreal  experience.  Living in the states  when I mention
Tinenaman Square I am sure there are certain events to that come  to your
mind.   These events  are not mentioned or even recognized as having
happened.

Chairman Mao is still guarded by  Soldiers.   For me all I could  think of
while standing there (and being stared at repeatedly and reminding  myself
to not play the part of the ignorant American) is the pain of those who  had
passed and the hope that maybe some of what they were trying to stand up for
will someday become a reality.

On a side note I have decided that all  of China is covered in steps.  No
matter where I have to go I am walking up or down numerous steps!!!!  Ugh!
Next  up lunch and the Cloisonné factory
